feedback paintings
series 1
2020
A series of digital images created with algorithmic processing paths developed in Max/MSP/Jitter. Images are generated by mangling dataflow to generate feedback between different frames of video/image source material. Some are also the result of reactive processes, responding to live audio/video input. A second series is visible here.

I wanted to experiment with creating purposeful redundancies, pushing the computer to its limits in order to draw cohesive abstraction out of nonsensical, completely inefficient processes. I also wanted to create video/image effects chains that respond to human impulse and real world stimuli. A second series of (more colorful) results can be found here, and some video works developed using this technique can be found over here.
